Engine ran fine with breather system blocked up, now connected the crank and head to the plenum chamber (direct via a tee) and the engine runs at
about 2000 revs.
squeze the pipe and the revs drop to 1000.
What have I done wrong, SVA Thursday and this is just what I do not need?
Gareth
sounds like air is flowing into the manifold quite freely - like opening the throttle butterfly in the carb
Was the filler cap off or something?
Where does the breather pipe go? into the airbox?
Cheers
Mark
There is usually a valve in the breather system that closes at high manifold vacuum. This stops the engine breathing through the crank breather on
idle. You could maybe get away with putting something into the pipe to act as a restrictor or use a breather valve from a pinto or zetec crankase
breather.
Paul.
What engine do you have? pinto ?
Whould connecting before the throttle body have the same effect?
It should work ok connected before the throttle body but may tend to coat everything in oil if the engine breathes a bit.Why not just fit a catch tank
so as the engine only gets clean air.
