SImple one (hopefully).
What is the difference betwen a pinto 2L with a 205 block, and one with a '2.0' block?
And is the 2.0 block worth getting?
JB
the 205 block is slightly stronger as it has extra 'webbing' at the back of the block.
thats about it
the pinto im rebuilding at the moment has a 2.0 block and i have a 205 in my car, not a lot of difference, IIRC correctly the 2.0 blocks were with the
earlier pinto, pre 84 i think, then the 205 came out and that is what they use in the cossie applications as well

Thats how I understand it too, with the 205 having 205 in raised letters on the side for identification. I think if you get an EFi engine they are 205 block - but not 100% sure.
like they said ^^^
most 205 blocks have '205' in very large letters on the sides
like this:
Pinto - 205 block
or like this:
pinto - 205 block
but you should only need the extra strength / thickness if your going to stick a turbo on or bore it out to a 2.1
on the other hand most 205 blocks will have the stronger late style conrods inside
