travelled to newark this weekend and the first 40 mins or so were fine, then she started struggling almost like she is starved of fuel anything over
2000rpm and she just wasnt having it, struggled all the way there, set tent up and went off again for supplys, about 10 min each way, car was turned
off for about an hour, car ran perfect while getting supplys, and again in the morning about 20 min drive, so thought something must have been blocked
on the way down and was now clear,
but on the way home yesterday i had the same problem after about 30-40 mins
also if i pulled over switched the engine off for 10 mins or so, she then ran perfect again for about 10-15mins till again id get problems!!
iv put my finger on it obviously being heat related but what is the problem???
your help is duly required
engine is 1300 xflow with standard carb
cheers
chris

Check your coil, is it a ballasted coil now without ballast, next thing is condenser/points.
Had exactly those problems to begin with until i went luminition and now megajolt.

Do you have a vent in your fuel tank?
Next time it goes pear-shaped, pull over, leave the engine running, and undo the fuel cap. If you hear a loud whoosh as air goes into the tank then
the venting needs sorting.
hi david yeah there is a vent which as far as i can tell should be fine, but ill try that next time
hope you get it sorted soon, or just put a bec in it
Glad you got home ok, felt a bit bad leaving you behind, but Adi said you were in the AA
There have been a few problems like this I have been reading lately.
One guy seemed absolutely certain that a new rotor arm would fix it. Somthing to do with micro fractures opening up with the heat. Once cooled down
everything is ok.
Could be worth a punt for a cheap fix.

I had same problems with my tintop in Greece a long time ago, Once it was some dirt in the carbs and the second time was the actual carburator that had a problem with leaking air.

I've already appolagised to Chris via u2u for leaving him and he's said not to worry and if it happens to me, he'll do the same!
Try the vent by taking the cap off as said above. Easy to elliminate that one first. That filter looked suspiciously empty to me.
