F**King BIG Bo**ocks!
omega0684 - 21/9/09 at 01:39 PM

stripped the bottom end of the pinto this morning so that i could do the honing (which all went well) and then inspected the crank main bearing and one of them has a crack in it! i measured the crank and it measures 56.98mm, consulting the oracle of Haynes its has standard crank width so is it a case of just buying and fitting a new set of bearings?

would these be ok

ebay linky

Alex

Yup.. will be fine as long as the crank
isn't damaged.

Can't see the auction because at work, but the link says big end bearings and you say the mains are cracked?

Thinking about it - 21/9/09 at 02:01 PM

He must be talking mains as big end is 51.98 - 52.00mm

Time for that zetec?

omega0684 - 21/9/09 at 02:54 PM

Yep, the auction is for big end bearings

You need mains.

I would add a 'BIG' between the two words in your thread title (preferable in bold)!

The initial statement just doesn't convey the seriousness of your predicament!

just for scootz, title amended!

lucky bugg3r if you ask me, noticing now and not finding out the noisy way!

hi alex,
i take it you would have fitted new mains anyway,
'if there was no crack'
