Gear Cable Help for runaround
Scoobythedog - 8/1/10 at 06:10 PM

Ive got one of these, Yuejin
bought it as a cheap runabout for carrying stuff, Its produced under licence from nissan, its 2 years old, and one of the gear cables snapped in this cold weather.
Im stuck now trying to work out what the cables off, how to get one, and who to contact. There is no reply from the website, nissan parts department haven't been able to help, and im not sure were to go now.
Anyone got any locost idea of solving the problem ?

The snap on the cable is just at the base of the thread in the attached picture, the cable appears to have a plastic insert with a metal thread on the outside, I thought about carrying on the thread, and using a sleave, but there doesn't seem enough metal, any ideas ?

Or how to identify what the cables off ?

Cheers

I think that parts from a mitsubishi canterguts (aka canter) should fit. There are loads of other names for these vans but they are basically all the same!

Cheers for the links, will try the cable maker,

THe contact details of the yuejin site, arn't answered, and there only seems a few of these vans around.

Will try the canter site, I have found out the old cabstar cables are similar, but dont have the threaded sleaves, not quite sure how the push in ones are secured.
