Very frustrating Sunday......

Just finished changing from a type E to to a type 9 gearbox. Everything is fine except i have no 5th gear. The gear lever moves into the 5th position, but there is no drive. all other gears are perfect.

I checked everything before i put it in and it was fine. all i did was renew the seals and gaskets.

Any ideas what is wrong?javascript:icon(''

selector roll pin not fitted /loose, fifth gear circlip adrift ? Have you got the gearlever /selector saddle in place? correct gear lever?

yes the saddle is in place. i have a new quick shift gear lever and the old lever, both do the same.

The selector gear was tight when i took the cover off. Not sure what you mean about the circlip.
