V8 Alternator choice

What sort of Amps rough will I be looking at for my Carb'd 3.9l RV8? I am thinking that the ones that came with my engines are rather large and heavy for a kitcar and probably kick out way to many amps anyway. What sort of alternators have you guys used?

I've got one of the little 40A Denso ones on mine. Should be more than adequate.

The alternator will only "Kick out" what the demand is.

Having said that, you do need to make sure it will meet the maximum demand of the coils / Dizzy, lights, horn etc.

You could probably downsize it a bit, but dont forget the coil will need a fair bit of power in comparison to a smaller engine / alternator.
