Has anyone got a link for a supplier of silencers suitable for a 2.0L Turbo?
Nick,
I was going to use a race can from a bike.
You can pick them up second hand for about £50. Stainles, ally, carbon; whatever takes your fancy.
They usually have a straight through internal diameter of about 2 inches. (I was once told that anything bigger than 2.5 inches would have a
detrimental effect on a cossie. Not sure if its true?)
This shouldn't be too loud because as I'm sure you know the turbo takes alot of the sound energy out of the exhaust exit.
I am going to go for the bolt on type (bandit 12, fireblade) so that if need be come SVA time i can just borrow a road legal version and swap it
on.
By the way, the car looks good.
Cheers,
Doug.

I don't know the exact diameter of the standard exhaust (I am at work at the moment so can't measure it) but it's larger than 2",
do bike exhausts go that large and are they really capable of silencing a 2.0LT?
Nick
Bike cans are designed to keep engines quiet at <13000 rpm. That should answer your question.
Adam
Sounds like a plan then!
Bike race can will be fine, the turbo will do plenty of silenceing for you.........
For turbo cars, the less restrictive the exhaust the better.
