Is it possible to use the mt75 gearbox with a live axel or how easey is it to fit type 9 to twin cam pinto engine as I have both gear boxes. regards Arthur

You can use either gearbox, the type 9 is smaller and has better ratios.
You will need a prop made up with the correct flanges, no big deal

Yep I use one with my atlas in the locost.

You need a sliding section in the prop.

Its an I4 engine in the DOHC sierras is it not? Dont think it was cosworth designed though. The cossie designed ones were based on the Xflow and fitted to RS1600 and 1800 escorts.

ER yes but an l4 bears no ressemblance to a pinto.
and the cosworth that was based on the pinto is the very famous yb
the cosworth designed crossflow was the fva
the op was obviously talking about an l4 twink but mistakenly thinking it was a pinto.
