MK Exhaust

Anybody with a Zetec silver top
in an Indy with an MK exhaust?

Mine has a small dent in one of the tubes
which appears to be to clear the under side
of a chassis rail.

Anyone else seen this before
and how much clearance would I need
to ensure engine rev motion isnt gonna
bounce this off the chassis?

Cheers

Hi,

I've got an MK exhaust manifold on a silvertop. The exhaust pipe nearest the top chassis rail is round all the way and there is about 10mm clearance between it and the top chassis rail. It was closer to begin with but I put a couple of spacers under the offside engine mount which angled the engine over slightly to give a bit more clearance. With the engine running, the exhaust hasn't hit the chassis rail and I'm using the engine mounts supplied by MK which I think are fiesta engine mounts. I bought some land rover engine mounts just in case which are supposed to be stiffer although (touch wood) I shouldn't need to use them.

Bizarre, is this a case of them knowing mine wouldnt
fit due to the arrangement of the tubes without putting
a dent in it?

No it's just good quality Mk exhausts They never fit...
