My engine has one of these on each cylinders throttle body. I know little about them and internet research doesn't really help me out with whether or not they're worth keeping and using (assuming I get an ECU with that capability).

Can anyone on here give an opinion... ???

This gives a good description of operation of these valves. Personally, i just set the throttle up not to close fully.

i agree, they cause all sorts of havoc when the ***k up. however get them working right and theyre fine. extra weight though...

I'd use one rather than not, make driving a whole lot nicer, cold starts easier, anti stall when running down to junctions and will step the car back down to a nice idle that can be controlled by both spark and the idle control valve. Keeps the car feeling more factory in my experience. Take the time to add it on if you run a single tb. If on itbs don't worry about it and and use the spark control to sort that all out
