thinking about lighter flywheel options for a 2.0 zetec e blacktop. i've read that the 1.8 zetec flywheel is about a 1kg lighter,
i've got a 1.6 zetec se flywheel (which obviously doesn't fit) but the cut outs for the position sensor look suspiciously like this

looks to be the same, but i'm worried it might be the same as the one that came off the motor.
any thoughts?
any other options i should consider?

Cheap and very light would be the sierra 1.8 cvh but you would need to run a crank pulley trigger wheel set up.
Standard 1.6/1.8 zetec E will be much easier.
Dunnell Engines sell a lightened Zetec E flywheel.
I bought a steel one when I converted, place I got it from no longer does Zetec stuff but it looks very similar to a Raceline or Burton one. It was not the cheapest alternative but it had several advantages. 1) It was lighter than a 1.8 or lightenend 2 litre one, 2) it will not disintegrate and amputate your feet like a badly lightened cast one can, 3) it uses a pinto type clutch - I used a DOHC Sierra one - £50 for the kit and 10 years on its still perfect even after a few sprints, trackdays and 20,000 miles, 4) a cheap Pinto starter fits and works great with no spacers, 5) standard release bearing works perfectly. No regrets at all, would use the same type if I was doing it again.

Retro Ford do a nice light steel flywheel for zetecs that uses the pinto clutch and standard pinto release bearing (CCT132)
