Hi guys!
Does anyone has investigated what is the biggest radiator size that can be fitted under standart nosecone?
Thanx,
Janis
The VW Polo rad is a very tight fit (good as it means the air has to go throght it). Have not got the overall sizes to hand, but can get them if no one else posts them. Good for 200+ BHP.
what MK of polo, I hace 2 MK2 Golf rads sitting arround and they are probably the same..

Mines a 1.0ltr 1983-85.
That should be more or less what I have, It's a 1.3 but sure they are the same size.

Good!
I have already radiator from golf gti, just there are two problems:
1. As I'll be using BMW 6 cilinder engine, the radiator has connetcting tubes on other side. Oh course, it's possible to re-route tubes.
2. In BMW radiators it's normal to have quite high pressure (~1 bar), and I'm a bit afraid that vw radiator just will not be strong
enough... Also connecting tubes ar slighlty smaller...

Hi,
If it's any use to you, I have a database of radiator sizes on my website
here
This database refers to the online shop for BuyPartsBy.co.uk and is searchable by size. Note that the prices were correct at the time I extracted the
data from their website but are now out of date. Just follow the link to their website for the current price. I don't have any connection to
BuyPartsBy by the way.
Cheers,
Craig.
Thats awsome! Thanx!
If it helps I run a 15 PSI system with the Polo rad and works fine.
I know for a fact that small engined veedub rads work very well under high tempteratures and preassures. A friend of mine had a mk1 golf and run dry
the water and oil on it numerous times.
The engine loved it, new head gasget, skim, roll it a little bit in gear, new oil and water and she would start first time.
i just went to breakers with nose cone under me arm, checked what would fit n what they had ect..........
came away with Maistro rad complete with fan sender ect for a tenner.......
