tompat3463 - 25/3/12 at 03:35 PM

any one know the compression ratio of a stock 893 blade engine ?

just trying to get my head around compression ratios and how it effects performance..

also what is the best way to lower a compression ratio from say 10:1 to 8:1 on a blade engine ??

TIA ALAN

I wouldn't bother about it, I'm running a completely stock 894 and it's plenty fast enough to loose me my licence and fast enough for a good blast at a trackday.
to lower compression ratio you need a thicker head gasket or maybe get away with 2 std ones.

Usual to double up on head gaskets, the quoted CR is I believe around 10.5:1, however the cam duration means that in reality its less than this.

They are designed to run on 93ron fuel, you can get gains by advancing the ignition (uses a new plate behind the engine pick up cover), if you go forced induction then 7PSI is still safe provided you properly intercool.
