Which of the drum based drive shafts can have the diff end tripods taken off and have diff end lobro's fitted to do a diff conversion?
I have some 24mm'ish dia shafts off the car, and 27 mm'ish dia shafts on the car at present.
I do not know if both shafts have the same diameter Tripod splines? I would not like to split the cans as I can not replace them to then find they
are the wrong size.
As far as I am aware all drive shafts have been taken off petrol cars, not diesel.
Can anyone help.

Desiel 27mm push shafts will take Lobro
As far as I am aware most push fits are 24mm or smaller
There is a how to do it on Sierra owners club and Crust world

I have 27mm shafts. Came from a 1985 2.0i sierra with rear drums and 3.9 open diff. Fitted 3.6 viscous LSD three years ago and simply swapped the push-in inner tripodes for bolt-on Lobros without problems.
Thanks Dusty I assume your 2.0 was petrol, not aware of a diesel 2.0 thought all were 1.8's.
Did you do any write up or have any pictures, or do you have any help information I could go off?
This would mean cutting the tins off shafts fitted to the car, so once I start I am commited.
What size are the lobro's outer diameter, need to check I have the correct ones.
TIA
Adrian
I can not find the information on Crust world and do not have any login to see the Sierra forum?
Correction I can log into the forum but it looks as though all the how to's have been moved so you have to be a paid up member of the club to
view.
Is there anywhere else I could look?
