Type 9 fitting

When the tax runs out at the end of August I have a Type 9 to fit in place of the current 4 speed box. Does the spline on the front of the prop
currently fitted to the 4 speed fit onto the spline on the Type 9 box?

from memory i think they are the same splines (at least for the type E box) but the type 9 has a longer tail and will need a shorter propshaft

I believe Type 9 is 1" 23 spline
Early Ford box are 7/8" 20 spline

That is the input spline for the clutch not the output for the prop.
The Type E 4 speed (also known as rocket and RS2000 by some) is the same splines for the clutch and prop. The Type 9 is about 6mm longer, when I
changed I did not need a new prop. The mount for the type 9 is further back and lower. The Type 9 needs a longer speedo cable, possibly even a right
angle drive since its physically bigger.
Remember that the Type 9 is physically bigger than 4 speed boxes, depending on your chassis it may need changes.
Other 4 speed boxes are shorter with different splines front and back, you will need many different parts to change from one of these.
Don't forget that the Type 9 uses a different gear lever as well.

Can now only find type9 output size for the prop
Part Number: PROPRJ3
Gearbox nose: 35mm OD/25 spline (Type E & 9)
