Zetec / Type 9 clutch
Plunky - 23/4/14 at 12:36 PM

Hi Guys,

I know there is loads of info on the web about clutches for zetec / type 9 conversions... however I am asking for something a bit specialised.

I am currently changing my silvertop for a blacktop and thought I had better change the clutch while it is all out.

the clutch has the following numbers on it...

LUK - 284 04 / 237 10

Any ideas what clutch it is?

Thanks
Liam

Give these guys a ring:

Tell them the I/PPC Magazine gave you their details. ;-)

sorry can't tell you what the number means

but if you can measure the size of it that'll help narrow down the possibilities

Clutch diameter is 217mm

What flywheel is it? 2.0 or 1.8?

Plunky - 27/4/14 at 11:08 AM

I'm assuming 2.0, could be wrong though, is there an easy way to tell?

This is a 1.8, does it look like this?

Or, does the clutch sit 'inside' as the 2L job has a raised section round the edge.

And here is a 2 litre one.

I think it is the 1.8 one from memory

A Mk1 Mondeo clutch fits the 1.8 no problem.

That will not fit a 1.8 flywheel. The photo's on the 2 posts above clearly show the difference and the clutches are not interchangeable.

The clutch in your link is for a FORD MONDEO MK1 MK2 2.0 1993 TO 1998 , spot the 2.0 in the listing title.

This is probably what you need for a 1.8 flywheel (from the same site).
