Fuel Pump 1300/1600 Xflow
Monty2556 - 15/5/14 at 06:54 PM

Just changed my engine from a 1300 to a 1600 but used a lot of the 1300 ancilliaries including the fuel pump. The pump seems to suck/blow OK when not on the engine but does nothing when on the engine. Are the fuel pumps different on a 1600 to a 1300?

If you are stuck I have a new one from my1700 x-flow spare as I now have BEC

Not sure but I think there should be an insulating spacer between the pump and the block which if left off alters the amount the pump shifts

Thanks for the reply so far. I've got the spacer in.

As above there should be a thick plastic spacer, the pump should work on both 1300 and 1600

Make sure the lever arm is locating itself over the top of the cam ,you should feel resistance as you put the pump in ,if not then the arm is trying to go under the cam and then it won't pump I'm sure I've had this problem once before many moons ago
