High torque starter
Sierra - 27/7/14 at 01:26 PM

I know of brise but just wondering if anyone knows of any other high torque starter for a 2ltr blacktop zetec with tiger lightened flywheel.
As you probably seen on my other post I'm having hot start issues and worried that another standard one won't be up to the job.
Ill need a direct fit as the place is very very tight.

Have a look at Cambridge motor sports website, they are in Letchworth so not too far from you

I had hot starting issues on my Zetec for several years. Damm annoying after fueling, could be sat there for ages while it struggled to turn over.

Eventually decided enough was enough. I fitted a larger capacity battery (460 CCA I think) and a more powerful Bosch starter from a Sierra. Cost was about £100 in total. About 9 years on it still starts perfectly hot or cold. But I did have to replace the original battery after 4 years (2 days before the guarantee expired).

Thanks for the info my only problem with the starter is that I don't know which model fits. I have a blacktop zetec engine with a tiger lightened flywheel

I would ask Tiger.
