Can someone help identify this diff? is it an LSD?
Thank you.
Description
Yes, it is.
To check, you don't have to remove the backplate, you just have to try to rotate the output shafts in opposite directions (with input shaft
free). If it's impossible / very stiff, it's a viscous LSD.
Just looking at it, I can tell you its not a LSD.
Agreed (with Matt) nice and fat behind the crown wheel.

Some good info on here Dave
Looks like a viscous LSD diff to me.
Looks just like mine although you take a better pic.

Ho ho. 3.62 written inside. Ford always did this. Handy!

Apologies chaps, I need some new glasses, I new it did not look like my ATB 7.5" LSD fitted in my V8 Westy as you can't see the planet
gears on that.
Just to add the ratio should be stamped on the crown wheel, if not count the teeth on the crown wheel and divide by the number of teeth on the
pinion.

Sierra viscous works between crown and one shaft, rather than between both shafts as you'd assume.

Thanks for the helpful replies I am picking the diff up on Friday so I have not had the chance to cast my eyes over it yet, it does appear to be viscous lsd then thats good news.
