having changed the alternator on my Zetec engine I now need a shorter belt. The original is 1200mm. Does anyone have a link to a size and part number chart?

Can't help with a chart, but I've often found my local motor factor helpful and knowledgeable when I'm looking for parts.

If it’s 6 rib then stick 6pkxxx In to eBay and go up or down until you find one. 6pk999 998 and so on

You may find two a mm apart but a quarter of the price of each other.
