Clutch cable advice this time. What cable do people use with locost pedal box and type 9 5 speed. I'm sure Sierra used a self adjusting pedal so
no need for an adjuster on the cable. As I'm not using Sierra pedal I need a cable with an adjuster.
Any ideas please.
I used a cortina cable for my last one and ive just ordered another for this one.
Escort is very short
Cortina is bit longer
Capri is a bit longer still
I used a mk2 Escort cable with a locost pedal box and type 9 but use an angled conduit against the bulkhead to get a decent routing for the cable which has a “P” clip securing it to the engine mounting bracket. Check the Burtonpower website ,shows clutch cable length which may help?
Awesome. I had looked on Burton. But wasn't sure. Will get one ordered. Cheers people
I used a Ford Capri clutch cable because it also has a 6mm diameter "eye" end, and is easy to attach to the clutch pedal with a 6mm bolt.

If using a bolt at the pedal end make sure it is not over tightened as it will cause the cable to fracture
IIRC I used a Capri clutch cable on my MK Indy. MK supplied chasis and pedals with a Pinto and T9 gear box. Worked fine for me.
Ordered a Cortina QCC1010 from Burton and it has arrived at 123cm long but with 100 stamped on the outer shield.
Phoned Burton and was told the outer shield is the same as the 100cm cable for the Mk2 Escort and only the cable is longer.
This is not making any sense in my head as it will only move the adjuster 23mm down the threads.
If it helps - I went with P100 clutch cable, which I think is even longer - maybe 1450mm or something like that. The Capri cable, which others mention
using successfully, didn't sit squarely against the pedal box or the bellhousing and so deformed when I pressed the pedal - before it actually
pulled the inner cable through.
I also had to move where the pedal end was terminating against the pedal box - which basically takes up the 'extra cable' you mention (I
think).

Update - it was P100 1.6 Clutch cable I used - which is QUINTON HAZELL QCC1010, so the same part as the Cortina at 1230mm.
So the same part you have had from Burton.
For info, I think there are different length Capri cables - I originally bought a 1.3 Capri cable - which gave the same run as the pic in the link
above.
Thanks for the reply. I have a MK2 RS cable coming so we will see if the outer bodies are the same. Just not sure why a 1230mm assembly would have the
same outer body as a 1000mm assembly - i guess I’ll find out when the RS one arrives
I like the red brake lines on the blog link - very neat!
