My 1.1 X-flow engine has given up the ghost in my road going jester.
I have been offered a running 1.1 X-flow engine at a great price.
So it would be a straight swap one out one in
One of the questions I need answered is do the DVLA needed to be informed for change of engine on the V5
Second question I am looking at changing the colour by body wrapping the jester from orange to yellow
The gel coat is getting very rough with a lot of hazing I just what to body fill it and wrap it
Is this something the they will need to no as well at the same time
The car was SVA-D by the first owner

You should tell DVLA, not a good idea to have the wrong engine numbetr on your V5 (though plenty about)
With "historic" vehicles you can just fill the form out and no complications. It would be prudent to get a receipt, or print your own, for
the "new" engine, and photograph the pld enine number in situ, and then the new. Just in case....
As to wrapping a car, no idea. It isn't permanent but then again the car would appear to be a different colour on the road. I expect there is
some guidance available from DVLA?

Regarding the colour change, personally I'd tell the DVLA and without doubt the insurer. Do it properly or should you have a bump you don't want to give the insurer any reason to avaoid paying out to you or another party.
