can someone tell me how to find out the age of my motor?

You have to send a letter to Ford stating your engine number and they'll send you a written reply with the engine age. I can't remember the address but I think it's been posted before. Otherwise you could try asking at a Ford garage.

If you want to know now, post up the first 2 letters of your engine number

As previously said give a little detail and all will become clear.
Burton power is one good source of info for identifiying ford engines from the number. Either posty your nos. or check it out. help is nigh!

You still need to write to Ford and get written proof for the SVA. If you cannot prove the age they will test it as a new engine I believe.

My father used the burton power guide to age his xflow for sva and got away with that. Its worth ringing them to see if your centre will accept it.
