Advice for Crossflow Dry Sump Kit
PeetBee - 27/2/03 at 08:55 PM

Hi, I've been offered a dry sump kit for my crossflow that is apparently complete (tank, cooler, pipes, sump pan) but is missing the pump.
Does anyone know where to get the pump/likely cost?

I don't know anymore about it yet as I'm still trying to work out if it's worth the journey. He's asking £100 does this sound reasonable?
Cheers

It is probably best to get in touch with a company like Vulcan Engineering (click here). But it does sound like a good buy....

and give everything a dam good clean, if the engine it came off had "terminal" failure then it will be full of nastys, allways be aware of this on 2nd hand dry sump tackle...........

one word of warning, but its only IMO, i would never again run a dry sump system, i had a all singing n dancing atmo cosworth go to the wall all because it threw a belt, make sure stones ect...can't get in under belt, thats wot threw mine....

Thanks for all your advice, but after seeing the price of pumps, I've decided that it's a nice to have that I can't justify!

However, in case anyone else is interested the guy is still advertising it (and has been for a couple of months now). His number is 01963 250777 in Sherborne, Dorset, He keeps advertising it in our local freeads paper.
