Which Engine ?
benson68 - 16/3/06 at 07:33 PM

Okay so i have bought a half built project with a cortina axle fitted, type 9 box and 1600 pinto loosely fitted

Not sure if the pintos the way to go cause or weight etc

What other engine choices do I have if I want to keep the type 9 box?

Or will the pinto give a resonable performance

I don't really want to start having to get involved with cats and adpator plates if I can help it?

What other engines bolt straight on to the type 9 box

Almost any 4 cylinder Ford bolts to a type 9 -- up and including a Zetec.

If you want to pay money for a bellhousing it opens the choice to Rovers and Vauxhall/Opel engines. And of course there is also the excellent Toyota.

If you want performance above all else there is the bike engine option.
