Fried Megasquirt Chip - Please Help!!!
Nev - 15/5/06 at 04:48 PM

I've managed to toast the MOSFET driver in my V3 megasquirt.

Does anyone know where I can get a new one?

I've tried RS, Farnell, Digi-key and maplin but there either out of stock or have a handling charge 10x the value of the chip!

The Chip is labeled U4 and is manufactured by IXYS part no. IXDI404PI and alternative part is the older MC33151P chip.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

There is a VERY slim chance that I may have one indoors.
I'll have a look later tonight when I get home from work.
If I have I'll U2U you and post here.
If you hear nowt then you know I haven't got one.
Are you sure that this is the only component that you've let the smoke out of?

Thanks BKLOCO,

I'm pretty sure that it's only the MOSFET thats damaged, the FETs and CPU look fine.

You are looking at U4 in V2.2
U4 in V3 is the same as U7 in V2.2
Confusing aint it....Do try and keep up mate

I don't think they are stocked by RS. or Farnell.

It U4 on the V3 board, U7 on the 2.2.

RS did stock the mc33151p but have discontinued it (444-8866). they now only appear to have the SOIC style chip (484-5481).

Farnell have also discontinued the mc33151p (793085) and now offer the RoHS compliant (9666770) as an alternative.
