Hi,

I stopped looking for the right T parts for the cooling system.
I just can not find a company here in Holland that sell T parts in the correct size for my cooling system.
Now i'm thinking about welding the T parts myself of 2 steel pipes of the correct size. I can't weld stainless steel with my Tig welder at home so will it be a big problem if i'm using just simpel steel pipes
to run the coolant through ?
Please some advice or better ideas.

raldes/dreaming twats do ready made parts,if its for the cooling system,make them from copper pipe and solder them

From commercial suppliers there available upto some pretty big sizes (28-72mm)

copper plumbing fittings did it for me - I used the pre-soldered ones that you just fit together, heat up and wait for the solder to flow. This also has the benefit that the flared area where the solder sits acts perfectly as a ridge to secure the hose fromk popping off. They only cost pennies too which is

I too have used copper pipe and fittings. I used 28mm copper tube and machined brass ends giving a lip at the end and taking the outside diameter up to 32mm, the size of many hoses. I used the non soldered end feed fittings, silver soldered, for the Ts to connect the header tank.

I too am surprised that you TIG welder will not weld stainless. Is there a problem with it?

copper fittings are neat, but I have made plenty in the past from welded mild steel, usually cos its there and i needed the t straight away very urgently!!

never had any problems at all.

ps if it will weld mild steel it will also weld stainless!

even if you have no stainless wire you can weld stainless with mild steel wires, it will just rust a bit!

aha, well a lot of things to think about.
A just bought 3 steel pipes with the right size for 15 euro.

I didn't knew i could weld stainless with my welder, thought i had to use different gas and wire.

you do to do a "proper" job, but you can weld a water[roof joint with mild steel wire and CO2 on stainless if you really have to!

Marco, do you have a TIG or MIG welder. I know you said TIG in you post but with TIG you normally use pure argon gas and filler rod not wire.

just use domestic ring solder copper fittings and pipe. From 15mm up to 54mm no problem!

Paint in black, silver or polish it up.
