As the above really..
I know the carbs have the float level which is basically the line between the body and the bottom plate but has anybody mounted them at a different
angle ie so that the black top of the carb and so the inlet/outlet are level?
If so do I need to adjust anything float wise
Cheers
Mine are very nearly level. They incline slightly towards the engine by about 10 degrees.
I have no problems with running or fuel starvation.
This is how Bogg Bros's do it.........

Thanks for the info paul, your right re warrens pic and i suppose it would be obvious to run the floats level.
Its a shame i missed out on warrens old manifold on ebay last week
i found it best to make my own back plate for the R1 carbs. it all depends on how you want to mount the filter to the carbs. I elected to mount it in
the same way the airbox was fitted and use the rubber spacers, however if you do this then the standard back plates are not thick enough to hold the
spacers correctly.
What i did was remove the spacers and cut out the bottom of the airbox that holds the spacers in with the four holes.
Use these piece as a template (you will notice that the carbs are not spaced equally to each other. the gap increases as you go from left to right.
I laid up some carbon fibre sheet for the base plate (you could always use fibre glass). two sheets togethor then i placed the part i cut out of the
airbox in the middle to give it the thickness ( i reduced the piece by about half to compnesate for the four layers of carbon fibre)
Then two more layers of CF and job done.
cut out around the air filter and cut two slots in the bottom as per standard back plate.
used a 70mm hole saw through for the carbs. The standard carb mounting rubbers fit in and you can use the standard ram pipes as well.
i will see if i can post a picture if it helps. It took me a few goes and a bit of trial and error to find the right mounting point.
Thanks for all the help guys
any photos of your airbox would be very helpful
cheers
