Hi

I have a Siera engine block whos bores measure 81.3 mm this equates to a 1.6 OHC LSD or LSE.

What do the letters indicate?

Is this a suitable engine for a book Locost?

Can a 5 speen box be bolted staight on?

Thanks

OHC - Over Head Cam

LSD - Limited Slip Diff

Sierra engine should be okay on a book spec car, I have a 5spd box on mine.

81.3 bore is later E-Max Pinto engine. This is basically a small bore 2.0 engine, ie same engine height and using a 2.0 crank.

No problem with type 9, 5 speed box.

Contrary to the advice in the previous post, I think you find it a tight sqeeze in a book chassis with a proprietary nose cone and scuttle. - Don't forget the MK Indy chassis which is popular is quite a bit taller than a book chassis.
