hi mate,

regarding the engine to gearbox problem you have....

ford have used the same bellhousing design more or less forever therefore you can fit any ford engine to any ford gearbox

please correct me if i am wrong because you will be saving my loads of cash when i try put a cologne v6 to a mt75 gearbox

i hope this helps

Matt

a 5 speed type 9 from a sierra, will match your crossflow

Not quite, the newer engines such as the Zetec SE and the Duratec use a different bolt pattern.

The old school Cologne V6 does have the common bolt pattern, so that combination should work ok. The MT75 is a big lump though, compared to a type 9 (though obvioulsy stronger as well).

thanks for clearing that up for me

It'll fit OK, but you'll need a different clutch, the type 9 has 23 splines, instead of the 20 spline one used in the 4speed.
