having finally started my mk indy today scaring the neighbours with a pinto on open headers and a huge silly grin my digi dash was indicating 60 PSI

question is...is this normal for a pinto at idle? seems low to me

Engine cold or hot? Cold, probably about right, when hot, that would be really high! Oh, has the engine been rebuilt recently, as this would perhaps account for high oil pressures.

As Si just said, I would expect to see that sort of pressure with a cold engine - when it is hot it might go down as low as 20 psi.
