What head settings? Valves, bolt torques?

Head bolt torque is 90-96 Nm or 66.5-70.9 lb ft

the question is somewhat lacking in sense.
if it is torque for the head bolts, there is a more up to date sequence that shold be used to avoid warp.
well i only know what i was told to ask sorry if it appears to be the minimum of info but i am female!
Information is from 2006 autodata and gives no sequence so the assumption is it is tightened in the normal manner. On something this old bearing in
mind when it was last put in a new car it is vary doubtful there is any revised sequence and even if there was tightening in the normal manner
wouldn't cause problems as they didn't suffer with head or head gasket problems

single stage only 90-96Nm
bolt sequence
5, 4, 1, 2, 3,
10, 9, 6, 7, 8, front
14, 13, 11, 12,
But you have 4 smaller bolts on these, the longer bolts should be torqued down to 90-96Nm, the short ones 82-85Nm, or 10% less !
In the ideal world get the heads skimmed and use proper head gaskets, not the pants tin ones.
If it was me I would install some later heads from an SD1, bigger valves.

The P5 originally used a sealant on the head bolts and all bolts tightened to the same torque setting. Rover experts do not tighten the third row of bolts nearest the exhaust to the same torque as the main bolts , the theory being that the heads "tip" ISTR the torque for these bolts is half the normal torque . Nice cars if well looked after
When I was building up my 4.6 RV8 I got new heads - the bolt holes on the head were missing on that extra row of holes. In other words rover
themselves eventually realised these holes were counter productive & stopped using them. So I'd suggest you could leave the bolts out
entirely, though a gentle 'nip up' might be less of a worry!
