Hi all, a friend of mine has an XE in his race car, don't ask me what it is as I haven't seen it , yet,
he has a big problem with oil
being pumped out of his catch tank. He has it all dry sumped, using a 'Tilton'? pump, having just changed from a 'pace'.
No problem with preasure, until it all gets pumped out of the tank
Any Ideas ??
Jason
They do breathe a fair bit if over filled, has he been told what sort of oil capacity to run by anyone or guided by his tank size or what?
Ned.
When you say catch tank, do you mean catch tank, or dry sump tank?
Assuming you refer to the dry sump tank, it sounds as if there is a problem with the scavenge side of things. In theory at least, the pump should be
able to deliver more oil back to the DS tank, than it can to the engine, if that makes sense - but the bias would appear to be back to front ATM...

Cheers for the info guys, I'll pass it on to him, he did mention something about the scavenge pump was a new fitment, so maybe it's conected
wrong ??
Jason
Def mean catch tank, as it fills up then empties all over the track from the breather pipe
