I have a sierra sapphire ghia for a donor car, i am planning on getting smith dials. What senders can i use from the sierra.

The dials im plannin of getting are, Speedo, Rev Counter, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Fuel Guage.

Also can i still use the oil pressure light if i use the guage, and does will i be able to fit the guage on a pinto?

Strongly suspect not many of the Sierra sensor are correct values. Speedo, you can use the Ford gearbox electronic output from MT75 gearbox if it has one, not sure if type 9 ever had one fitted. Rev counter will take feed off coil poss. Water temp sensor best to use Smiths one,£7 ish. Oil persure sender again will need Smiths, they can supply tee for fitting switch also. Fuel tank again Smiths unless the Sierra one fits and has same high/low resistance range. If in doubt call Smiths/CAI as they were very helpful to me.

yeah... we have bought a speedo sensor which goes onto the prop shaft using magnets.. has anyone had any problem with these ?
i spoke to this guy at europa and he said it was best to get this, your supposed to keep the sesors 3mm from the magnet on a rotating propshaft.. but propshafts move loads surely
he said that the Sierra one would be very inaccurate and i should buy this sender.... i wasnt sure if he was just trying to get money out of me though.. would the MT75 one be THAT inacurate???
