Hey guys, anyone know a tried and tested method? want to shorten the standard part but not sure of the best way to 'glue' it back together after chopping the straight part out?

If you want both the pickup and the sump itself chopped, my uncle does them in his spare time when he's not welding / prepping various race cars for £60 + postage.

If I knew exactly how he chopped the pickup I would gladly share it but Im not sure, I know there's a bit of a lip on some of the plastic ones somewhere which he uses to pretty much make a snap-shut fitting between the two bits once chopped, although obviously its glued as well. He must have done maybe 20-30 of them by now and not had a problem as far as Im aware.

I arldited my first one and it worked fine, there are 3 raised lugs in the sump bottom that sit tight under the pickup so it can't fall off even if the glue fails. i welded 3 bits of 8mm ally round bar in the bottom to replicate the lugs.

Cheers chris, very neat job and great offer but i can do the welding myself. Was mainly worried about what glue to use and if it will fail due to heat etc...

better not mess with it till after sva on the 26th tho!
