Just seen these on ebay, does anyone know what they're worth? Im just debating whether to put a bid on and for how much.

It depends what they are jetted for, as new chokes and jets and setup time and tools soon all add up. Vizards how to tune pintos, also the web, will give you suggestions based upon the cam and what stage of tune your head is. hope this helps. i couldn't find those on ebay perhaps a link would help?

I see he has a set of red ram pipes listed seperately!! Would be worth checking with the seller if the carbs come with the set in the picture as it looks a bit like he's selling them seperately!!

£150 - £175 would be my max bid but they would have to be a matched pair. Why not try bike carbs?

Those rampipes arent a matched set. The one on the right is a different flare radius and on the piss.

As above re the price.

Rant: People go all misty-eyed over DCOEs, but theyre only good if theyre not knackered, they're the right size for the engine, and you spend a little time/money/both getting them set up.

Ive seen sets go for over £300 on eBay...

Also, dont fall into the trap of thinking that whacking great 45s would be great for a little 1300Xflo: they'll be too big for that displacement unless youre revving to 9K or something daft.

Ive got a pair of 45s on a moderately hot 1700 sprint engine, and its a bit borderline even then.

A small engine wont draw enough air to make the gas speeds high enough thru the carbs to get the best fuel atomisation at anything but the highest RPMs. Result? Bog all low down torque.

If you get REALLY lucky, you might be able to frag some throttle bodies off a BMW M power engine.

E28/34 M5
E24 M6

All have 'em. Rare tho...

The best thing about Webers apart from the noise is the historical associations.....

They're old technology, ineffficient, inprecise and MPG sucks unless you're an uberkool tuner with emissions testing kit....

.... and it's true that if you wack on carbs that are too big performance will actually suffer.

When you see the amount of money people spend of carbs, new needles, emulsion tubes etc etc you wonder why they don't just get into that new fangled post 1980s technology and go for fuel injection....

Oh well.... they do sound nice though...

Forget them and go bike carbs + save £ aswell
