does anyone have a nice simple diagram for the fuel system for an injection car as in returns and feeds, breathers etc???
I also have a filter before the pump and one on the return as well. Breather in the top of the tank got it of ebay for a cuple of £ they fit on mini
motor bikes look like a top hat with a ball baring in

Can I jump in here and ask what fuel pumps are generally used for injection fuel sustems?...As I'm in the process of collecting allthe bits for a
bike TB conversion........
Also, does your fuel tank contain a swirl pot...or can you make do without?...
Cheers.
Paul.
Mm I am making do without at the moment i have not driven the car but it runs fin stationary without a swirl pot if I find I have problems when I got
it moving I may fit one. I have a large capacity fuel tank with internal baffles so if I run it half full I think it will be ok? I used this fuel pump
of ebay works well for my xr2i engine.

only payed £40 for it not £100 ^^^^ but cant find the listing on there now
i have a swirl pot on the base of my tank, thanks for the help guys, will that breather you have be ok for an SVA do you think??
just out of interest, why is the filter after the punp and not before?
other people on here recommended using the breather should be ok it doesn’t let liquid out when its turned upside down. I think the diagram assumes there is a filter in the tank ?? but there should be one after the pump to stop any thing from the pump getting into the fuel rail
Picture of mine here
The The high pressure pump feeds a HP filter and fuel rail (both out of picture). Excess fuel then returns via the return pipe.

here's my system.
fuel tank, with breather 't'd into filler pipe. then through cheap glass filter into a fuel pressure switch then into facet red top pump
which supplies fuel swirl pot. The 1.5l swirl pot supplies bullet filter into bosche 044 pump. this supplies the fuel rail then back into the swirl
pot. breather/overflow from swirl pot.
hope this makes sense.

Have a look at a Landy Disco pump - pump, sender and swirl pot all in one It even automatically adjusts itself for tank height too

The maximum height is probably 400mm at a guess but it compresses down to less than 300mm and comes with a rubber gasket - just cut a hole similar to
a large aero filler cap with 6 mounting holes. One connector for everything is nice and easy.
Sorry I havent got exact dimensions as it is now totally hidden by panelling.
It certainly made my fuel setup very simple and gives well over 3 bar of pressure too.
For an idea on size, here's a pic of my left tank - you can just see the mounting plate to the rear of the tank

Great - thanks. It looks like the simple solution I could do with!
Did you buy one new or from eBay?
Wyn
I bought a new one but it came with an non itemised invoice so I haven't a clue how much it cost
There is a new one on eBay for under £80 which I reckon is a pretty good deal when you consider what you get.
