what about the spigot bearing and the shaft wouldent the shaft not sit in the spigot bearing if i added an inch on to the bel housing some thing like that

You need to have a measure up, this method used to be used to fit fiat twin cams into escorts years ago.

I am using the audi flywheel bolted to a rangerover flex plate
