Ford Mondeo ST24

I am wondering if anyone has tried to fit the ST24 to the Locost or the Haynes Roadster Chasis. I've opted for the Roadster chasis and before I splash my cash out wondering what the pit falls are for this engine?

Could be a good choice but finding a suitable gearbox could be the biggest problem.

Cheers

Can't remember if the 6 pot ford lumps allow the MT75 to be fitted in place of the MT75Xs - Tthe four pots do IIRC.

If not then box of choice with difficult transfer plate in order...

about the only box that will fit is from a jag.

do a search as there is a guy who has done it.

You mean this engine?

Here's some info about it. Seems that the TR7 5 speed gearbox does the trick, wichever gearbox that may be. I can try to contact him if you want.

That's the bad boy, though looking at those images it seems they had to shoe horn it into a larger frame than the Locost/Haynes Roadster.

TR7 5 speed gear box seems to be the way forward, shame it would be depriving such a lovely car of a working transmission oh well!!!

PS any help on this would be greatly appreciated, it's my first build and I feel like I'm throwing myself in the deep end a bit... but V6!!!

I'm guessing the FWD to RWD transformation wont be too difficult... Will have to scour these forums.

Cheers

Don't be misleaded, it's a Stylus chassis and has the same structure as a fury or striker chassis, ie it's biased the engine towards the o/s, so it's cramp at o/s but loads of space at n/s. But in a symmetrical chassis like the roadster it will be ok I think. I'll take some stylus chassis measurements (firewall to rocker arms and o/s to n/s width)
Will also try to contact the guy.

Cheers for the heads up, looks likes it's do-able...

Any tips that can point me in the right direction are more than welcome.
