Pinto Dizzy

I have a 1600 pinto with a points type dizzy. I have bought a pinto electronic dizzy to replace it but on offering it up it seems to be different and it does not go in fully. Are these interchangeable or have I missed something ?

You sure it isnt just that it hasnt meshed properly with the oil pump drive and distributor drive on the crank?? Might need to give it a little wiggle around (ooo-errr missus ) to get it to engage.

As above

I did the opposite and replaced an electronic dizzy with a points based. It should slide in, as above it may need a wiggle to ensure it meshes with the aux shaft correctly.

hope that helps.

Cheers

Is it locating on the oil pump drive?

Have checked again it is not engagement but it seems that the ground section of the spindle is interferring with the small bore at the bottom. so I gues its a tolerance issue
