What are the maximum revs I should be taking an untuned 1600 x flow too?

Had it on the dyno at a local firm to check the fueling and it was making 100bhp at 6188 revs but we were unsure of taking it much further.

The fueling was way out at the bottom of the range as it was running very rich between 2400 to 3300 revs.

Running the car on 32 DFM 4 carb with possibly the standard jets etc, unsure of what is supposed to be in there or iwhat is best to be in there.

Anyone know of any carb tuners within the Dunfermline area, my local rolling road is a Dastek agent who can only do fuel injection set ups.

I wouldnt take it beyond 6k without balancing. my valves start bouncing at anything above 6k anyway.
BTW either that engine is tuned quite a bit, or your rolling road is a mile out. A std 1600 crossflow in good order will put out about 85bhp.

I was just about to say, i thought max power was supposed to be around 5500 and max revs around 6000 for a standard crossflow.

Assuming you've got a decent exhaust then that will make some improvement but 100bhp does sound rather 'impressive'. At least if you keep going back to the same place you'll have a baseline to work from.

They are up the road a bit from you, but might be worth the trip

It may well be a "flattering" rolling road designed to give you a nice optimistic print out for showing down the pub....

The 100 bhp figure is from the crank, so not as impressive as it would be as if it was at the rear wheels....... In the past when I have used their dyno for various cars the outputs have been as I would have expected.
