clutch for a cvh for ford type 9
jamie1107 - 20/7/08 at 02:01 PM

hi im trying to mate a ford cvh with a 200mm standard cluch to a type 9 ford box
just to make it even more complicated i want to make it hydraulic because a bike accident trashed my legs
so does anyone have any ideas i know the ford splines line up and the spigot bearing shouldnt be to much of a problem im just unsure as to which bell housing i need and what clutch to use
thanks

What type CVH is it from a Sierra or Escort.

Just wondering as the Sierra could have 1.6 CVH or 1.8 CVH both with a type 9 so would have thought most motor factors could do a mating clutch.

Not sure on the clutch bit as they seem to be cable.

there is a conversion available for converting to hydraulic it uses the Mondeo set up and a spacer plate, I think Retro Ford sell it

i assume you are fitting a front wheel drive 1600cvh to a type 9, i fitted a 1800cvh rear wheel drive flywheel in place of the 1600 one and then fitted the standard 1800 clutch assembly but dont forget the to install a spigot bearing into the end of the crank to take the gearbox input shaft, you can get replacement hydraulic clutch thrust bearing kits, but dont know if they would be much lighter than a cable one.
