Useful fuel pump?
James - 2/8/08 at 10:38 PM

Couple of years ago I was down at GTS and Darren showed me an in tank fuel pump he had fitted in a W7DE.

It was quite cool as it had a built in level sender, and (IIRC) swirl pot aswell.

It struck me at the time as potentially really useful but I'm b#ggered if I can remember what car it was off. Pretty sure he said it was basically a Peugeot one but you could buy them new from a tuning company that would sell them with up-rated pumps.

Anyone got any ideas what it was from? Have I dreamed it? The sender bit seems likely (girlfriend's Fiesta has that) but could it really have had a swirl pot in it as well??? Ah well!

Anyone able to help?

Cheers,
James

I think there is such an item from a freelander, may be wrong though. I seem to remember Razman using a similar pump in his Aeon.

ISTR thre is a Golf one that is a swirl pot , filter and pump combined - not sure about the level sender though ?

A lot of cars use them including the Rover 75 and VAG models it is a Valeo item however many of these cars have saddle tanks devided into to two sections by the centre tunnel for the exhaust. The other half of the tank has another sender built in to fuel filter regulator unit.

It might be better to use an earlier type fitted to rover 600 models.
