I have just installed a header tank for my cooling system on my crossflow.

I now have pipes that can feed/draw from this tank from the Water pump and the cylinder head/inlet manifold. Silly question, Which one should be at the top (Smaller 8 mm pipe) of the tank and which one should be at the bottom Larger 12mm pipe)?
