Which way in / out ?
andyace - 6/9/08 at 10:04 PM

Hello thanks in advance, hopefully an easy one. Could anyone tell me which pipe is in and which one is out? A or B

This is a ZX9R E fuel pump.

Many thanks, Andy

Connect it to a battery and see which pipe sucks and which one blows.

Attach it, if when you switch the ignition on you hear a bubbling sound from the fuel tank swap the pipes over on the pump

That's what I did anyway

Mine is the same (but a c1) and as said A is the in and B the out

Fuel filter side is generally in - to protect the pump.

B is very likely to be an output due to the following logic:

A has a single pipe attached to it (it from the tank). There's very little reason to have a second line associated with it.

Meanwhile line B has a t-piece. This may well take the fuel to two banks of carbs.

Therefore logically A is the in and B is the out
