Where can I get my mitts on these?
james h - 6/10/08 at 08:16 PM

I can find lots of clevises (clevii? :S) with a threaded insert but none which are like the one below, with grub screws to hold a cable in:

cable clevis
cable clevis

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

James

By the way mk call them a universal kit.

I made something similar myself.

Took a length of 1.2mm steel. wrapped it round my throttle pedal. Drilled small hole through the 1.2mm steel and pedal and added snap pin. it won't move now. I then crushed / flattened the 1.2mm steel together behind the pedal and drilled a hole through it. This hole is exactly the same size as a normal cabel bobbing drum thingy (*). I then open up the steel just wider than a throttle cable, put the thingy in the hole, thread the cable through the middle of hte 1.2mm steel though the thingy and tighten up the thingy.

Job done, cost 0.1p and 15 minutes of my time (along with about 2 years wondering how i'd do it as i didn't know you could get the thing you've listed).

(*) the thingy is a tube with a threaded screw in it. Half way down the length it has a hole drilled from one side to the other that the cable passes through. The screw clamps down on the cable through the inside of it. And no, i can't remember what its called.

Will that clevis yoke with grub screws do for a clutch cable without pulling out, Type 9. It's or my Haynes Roadster as I have been looking for something like that myself for some time wondering what the hell to use rather then drill a hole through a small bolt and clamp it!

Im sure the break down companies carry them for road side repairs.
