Windscreen fitting

Hello all,

I'm looking for some help/ advice.

I'm about to replace my fly screen with a windscreen on my Tiger Avon, the flyscreen is fitted with the std Tiger uprights bolted to the GRP scuttle, do i need to bolt them to something more secure, or will the GRP be strong enough?

Any advice on fitting the windscreen in general would be appreciated.

Sandy

Just use some big washers on the inside of the scuttle to spread the load.

Make sure you get the angle of the screen right before drilling any holes.
Are you fitting a hood? If so the screen will need to be in the correct position in relation to the hood.
Get some sidescreens as they make a massive difference once you have a screen on.

Hi Stu,

Thanks for that, i'm hoping to use the holes already drilled in the scuttle for the fly screen, just wasn't sure if the GRP was strong enough for a full windscreen.
I wont be fitting a hood, not even planning on fitting wipers at the moment, i'll probably change back and forth between windscreen and fly screen

cheers Sandy

My scuttle is fibre glass and has been fine with the screen on so assuming yours is a similar thickness should be OK.

Put some fender washers on the inside to spread the load on the GRP
