Fitting out a mobile service van, HELP Please
I am a service engineer by trade, i work for a company that service instruments used in the clean air industry - such as hospitals, pharma plants,
nuclear etc.
We are currently setting up a mobile service unit as we also do onsite service but we generally take all our equipment and set it up in customers
buildings.
Basically im after any info on setting up a van with power - lighting - tool storage etc. Criteria would be a long wheelbase hightop van, must be able
to access the front cab if we are working in the back so no luton vans, has anyone done this sort of thing before ? after info or recommendations of
companys to board it out, fit mains electrics so we can hook up to onsite power, we need a constant temperature for the instruments whilst calibrating
the instruments so we are thinking of full aircon/heating unit fitted too, it will be used in all weathers, by one or two people at once depending on
size of job.
Also if anyone has recommendations for certain makes of van, good & bad points etc, that would help too.
I have tried searching for bits on the net but cant find much yet.
Budget is open at the moment so any suggestions welcome.
Cheers Andy

These guys do van fit outs, based in Bucks.

No connection except hoping to get some business from them as we do the storage equipment side for warehouses.

Hi, sounds to me like you could use a moterhome.
My friend has purchesed one that is based on a large van chassis and is the size of a luton box but you can walk through from the drivers seat to the
back. They arte often fitted with aircon and heating, mains hook-up is normal.
You probably dont need the beds etc but I am sure one of the choach-builders that make them would be a good place to go.
