Donkervoort dimensions comparison
I dont suppose anyone knows the Donkervoort D8 dimensions. Im interested in the wheelbase and also the height of chassis part H and B2. I love the
shape of the d8 but just trying to work out what chassis base size its using (book) (+4) (+442) or (other).
If anyone has any info at all please let me know.

Ok by the looks of the rear arch Part K2 they seem to be a good distance apart from the top plate member. So i guess that makes (H) 11inches so thats
the book size.
Also from what i can tell (LD) looks longer humm. This is great fun!

I'm actually aiming for a donky-alike body, but with no screen/roof. I have chosen they haynes for this as the measurements seem to match up
quite well.
i am planning to sort out a proper buck for all the body panels and knock out decent GRP tub and panels. although this will take around 8 months from
now, it would be cool to get some feedback from members if they think anyone would want to buy donky look alike panels to fit a haynes chassis?
just looking at ways to fund the rest of my build.

Donkervoort D8
wheelbase 2300mm
front track 1400mm
rear track 1470 mm (standard Sierra I guess?)
overall length 3410 mm
overall width 1730 mm
overall height 1100mm
interior width 1020mm (more or less the same as an MK?)
uses 225/50/R15 tyres (not sure if rears are wider than fronts though)

Yeah quite a bit! the McSorley +442 has a wheelbase of around 2438mm so thats kind of not right...
As for interior width.. (Chassis B2) that is the internal width inside the cockpit for the book is 1016mm and the +442 is 1118
So yeah it looks like its just the stock book size chassis. apart from the rear axle is slightly moved i think from what i can tell from pics as the
rear of the D8 GT's are a bit of a different design. I will try and work out a pic that has the chassis design on for anyone thats interested.

D8GT uses the same chassis as the normal D8 afaik. I think the newer D8's do have a wider front track though (the same as the rear track). There
might be some useable pictures on the donkervoort.info website.

Humm just thinking what rear axle setup would be best to get the 57.8inches (1470mm) rear track. I was originaly thinking of going for a mx5 setup but
thats 56.2 (1427mm) as it has loads of upgrade parts and are not to hard to find. in a ideal world would find something that has 114.3 x 5 stud hubs
and is 1470mm... any ideas?

Sierra is 1470 (or 1468, depending on the source of information). Same ET as the donor = same rear track.
Donkervoort uses a sierra read diff and driveshafts
It's all just a fancy MK/MAC1/MNR ;-)

From the donker website. That D8 has a strange upright does not look sierra humm bugger lol wounder if its all custom or from another car
cool idea for front suspension with oil cooler!

The front tyres are 205/50R15.
The gearbox is also Ford T9.
The GT rolls on 17" tyres.

The chassis is wider for the driver and passenger due old rules in the NL.
the seats had to be 450 mm wide.
So Donkervoort made his own chassis in the '80. I believe its basic still the same chassis.
It was made in the UK for years, don't remember who it was.
